Prepared for Battle

Tradition. Honor. Army's Team. These are the cornerstones of Army's legacy. And this season, the Black Knights will celebrate that heritage while nodding to thefuture by lacing up in the distinctively designed and highly- advanced Nike Pro Combat system of dress against archrival Navy on December 10.

Army's new look pays homage to the timeless teams that have produced some of the strongest squads to grace the gridiron. The uniforms draw inspiration directly from the 1944 and 1945 undefeated national championship teams that came during one of the most influential periods in world history. Gold pants combined with a clean white jersey give the Black Knights a traditional, yet intimidatinglook to match their on-field style of play.

To display their uniformity, "West Point" overtakes the name plates on the back of the jersey, and coach's mantra "Sing Second" is also stitched into the collar. The words are a reminder that to the victor goes the spoils and the winner gets to sing its alma mater second while the runner up looks on. Sewn into the top of the team's socks is the slogan "This We'll Defend." The game's latitudinal and longitudinal coordinates (41°22'N 74°3'W) with accompanying Morse code location are fitting for a team who is always prepared for battle.

The traditional uniform design also meets technologically advanced innovation in the Nike Pro Combat system of dress. Nike Pro CombatDeflex padding eliminates unnecessary bulk, allowing the Black Knights to hit top speeds without worrying about damage to crucial impact areas. Carbon fiber plates in the baselayer can also be moved to the player's preference to maximize mobility and form a durable armor for when the team engages in on-field combat.
