Facebook has 2 options: deactivate and delete. Of course they make deleting your account entirely very hard to find. In the "Help Center" search 'permanently delete account'. You will get all of the info and links to do it. There is a two week window to allow you to cancel the deletion, so don't login either via mobile app or desktop. All traces of you will be deleted, every comment, every photo tag, every connection you have. Gone. Again there are two options: deactivation and deletion.

Facebooks kinda cheep, when you deactivate your account, its still there... just waitting for you to reopen it.

Google+ Fully deletes it. Thats good. But theres no reason to delete it, Its awesome! :D
