  • Another great project there..

That runner grass is terrible stuff hey, I put some in a dark sealed container full of water to try and make a fertiliser out of it, opened it up 6 months later and the bloody stuff was thriving in there, argghh! Any advice on ways to get rid of it, and then kill it / recycle it?

  • i'll be piling all mine up, covering it with black plastic, leaving it in the sun for a good 5 months and hoping for the best, lol

  • What about nut trees? Is that an option for you at the Produce Garden?

Thanks for sharing this work in progress!

  • ive got almond trees, hopefully planting a few more, its hard with the cockatoos

  • you should get a bee hive

  • Interesting to see how much effort is needed for water conservation down under - here in Europe, well Wales anyway, it's not a problem but it does get too cold/wet sometimes. Keep it up, love the vids.

  • I don't know whether it would be viable but have you thought about getting 1 or 2 bee hives happening-pollinators a swell as honey producers...maybe when the rains come you can start a little farm shop with online exports of honey??

  • good day mate

  • are you related to wolverine ?

  • Show us how to prune fruit trees. I know I have no idea where to cut or how much to cut or what time of the year to do it. Thanks!

  • How are the chickens doing. If you have enough apples next year you could make cider . You could sell surplus to friends . I know if I had apples which I will have one of these days that is what I'll be doing.

  • How much land do you have?

  • you betcha, they will eat that grass down to the nubs, the acid from their poo will kill any grass. If you can build a "chicken tractor" it's a fantastic way of clearing spots for future garden areas. Pigs also work great for uprooting stumps!

  • If you can find a big enough container for it, try unhooking your shower, your kitchen sink, and your washing machine from your waste line, have that all drain into a big container. Have the container elevated and a spigot at the bottom, and hook a hose to it, it's a great way to gravity feed water to plants.

  • Cardboard, cardboard..I'm telling you that stuff is awesome for holding in moisture. I use several thicknesses(they have to be well watered initially. Then just put a thick layer of mulch over the top. I live in the desert, and during the hottest part of the summer, I usually only have to water every 2 weeks.

Do you save your gray water?
