Greyhounds are very competitive around other Greyhounds. They will nip at each other when running along side each other. For their protection, they wear muzzles. And muzzles are not cruel. Doesn't effect their breathing at all. I have 2 Greyhounds from racing backgrounds. They are amazing dogs!

They play by running up on their "prey" and snapping and biting it. They tend to tear the skin on the other hound if they are not muzzled.
