A pit bull attack in a Spokane Washington, South Hill neighborhood has sent one man to the hospital and one dog to Spokanimal. A 59-year-old man was taking an afternoon stroll around his neighborhood when a pit bull ran out of a yard and attacked him. Witnesses say they thought the dog was going to kill him. The man was attacked and bitten several times on his hands. Witnesses says the dog bit the man's hand so badly it looked like he might lose a finger. Eventually employees with a landscaping company working nearby were able to fight the dog off though they were bitten in the process. "One of the dogs bit my shoe, I grabbed the weed whacker out of my truck, scared him into his gate," Marco Sanchez said. The dog's owner wasn't home during the attack. He said he usually leaves the dog inside but police say that for whatever reason the dog was not inside the home. The dog is now being held at Spokanimal. It is possible it may be put down.
