It may address black issues but I love this play with everything I've got. I think it hit me the exact way Stew wanted it to. I will talk about this work of art for the rest of my life.

@TRASHYgah I know exactly what you mean. I'm Latin & I still felt the connection. I could relate to it. It's just so universal. I don't even think Stew & the cast knew exactly of the power this musical is charged with.

@bluewizowl i saw this song performed at the tony's and was totally not feeling it, but after seeing the whole show, i am in love. the show in its entirety is pretty life-changing. :)

Sounds silly but i am Bi Racial (Quarter black) and always wondered where exactly i fit in with the world, cause i don't look black, or white. I love this musical, even though it's a "Black musical" because it looks at the "Where do i fit in" issue.
thank God..because there needs to be a black musical that reflects all the variations, shades and cultures of black, rather than just one idea. it shows a different POV.
I love how at the end of Amsterdam his Mother says "Why don't you want to be around your own people?". That line is all too familiar for so many people.
