I played one in a piano competition recently; didn't get the chance to sample it beforehand, and during my playing of the moonlight sonata I was marveling at how beautiful it was and kinda lost track of what i was playing.

Sorry ... attually it's the fazioli best piano. Look at Fazioli vs Steinway video and you decide who wins. Are different and wonderfull both. Is like Porsche and Ferrari. who is the best? No reply. PAgani may be. :D

And at the end he was playing Schumann's Carnaval (Op.9, 12)... Mr. Fazioli is my kind of guy.

FAZIOLI! YEAH!

@OneGreatPiano You're right. Every Piano is hand made. there is a Fazioli 280 or something like that (not a 308 but also a top quality piano). It is just like every time I am allowed to play it I feel like I am in another world. :D. And every Fazioli is signed by Paolo Fazioli himself. That's what I like best...
If I had 200.000 € I would buy a Fazioli 308, cuz I 'd rather choose the piano that I like best instead of a piano that is choosen by the majority of people.

@rinsim Thank you for identifying the work for me!!!
A little dishonesty in the journalism, the Steinway is still considered to be the finest piano.

@demosj : If you do a little research on the subject (as did this reporter), you'll find that the Fazioli pianos (made in Italy) actually rate a bit higher than Steinways (made in NY) - and for most professionals, choosing Steinway is more about its wide-spread availability than its quality.

@OneGreatPiano don't forget the quality of the austrian bosendorfer. That is the top on my list. It comes straight from the land of music!

@portentousjames Yes! It's true! Bosendorfers are fantastic pianos!! I had the option to be a Bosendorfer dealer, but I chose Fazioli instead because so many performers are converting to using Fazioli, and the consumer confidence in Bosendorfer has dropped a little since being purchased by Yamaha. Notice the video interview by from the VSO's principle pianist Linda Lee Thomas - a Bosendorfer owner. It's the "People Uncut" video that I've uploaded.
