This is my first attempt (ever) at making a mash-up. I took PJ Harvey's original "Hardly Wait" for the low parts [Universal Music Group], then used the cover by Juliette Lewis and the Licks for the high parts [Sony Entertainment]. The opening quote (as well as video footage) is from the criminally underrated movie "Strange Days" [20th Century Fox]. This is an ode to a movie and a song that easily mark pivotal points in my mental growth. It is only fitting that they serve, again, as markers in my growth as a DJ... as I move into exploring the world of mash-ups.

  • I agree, this movie invaded my soul & became part of me the first time I saw it

  • @magikman79 - Few movies show a world on the verge of cyberpunk. They usually jump right into the future, but this one went right to the cusp. Throw in the cutting study on racism, human addictions and weakness and the murder mystery and you have one hell of an amazing movie. Always love meeting others who've come across it.

  • Yes. I mashed them together. It includes sampled clapping and quotes from the movie "Strange Days", also.

  • not bad I like the mix between the two (although I will always prefer Juliette she is a goddess PJ is.. well a great artist . good mixing would like to hear you to mash another strange days song in to this really mash it up how about mashing in to these two selling Jesus? I know this is like a 2.5 year old upload .. come on that would be the shit1

  • @SanJayaPrime If you read Gibson's "Pattern Recognition," you will see how cyberpunk is not really about the future. It's about the way the world is seen with/through technological imagery that is pervasive and responds to everyday needs, is a mundane motivation and explanation of what one does. This, and the expression of "minority" and self-definition in this technological world. So "Strange Days" is to me one the best cyberpunk movies ("Southland Tales" is another, but not all of it).

  • very nice im downlind to my self, very good sound mixing. thanks
