This shows the use of a household dimmer switch to drive a Automotive Ignition coil
The coil may not be the type one is used to seeing in that it is not a cylindricalr
I believe these were fitted to Vauxhall cars and were made by Valeo

  • I have had some success using two part epoxy PUTTY

    marketed in the UK as MILLIPUT I pay less that £3:00 for a pack

  • Never knew that you could use a dimmer on the mains like that to drive them.

  • Arrrg... surface-arcing is a bitch... I'm still trying to get my ignition coil insulated enough around the output terminal, but that proves to be difficult
