Just a wee snippet of the excitement experienced on day 2 of the 2009 world cup. What a buzz to be there. A pure adrenaline pumping day and I was just a spectator!

man the guys in the beggining of the clip need to strip their black belt... i hope they have a gun or knife when they are on the streets coz thats their only chance of survival... the girls who did kata in the clip were pretty good... work on the stances though...

Ok Seriously STFU! Im a Black belt in Gkr karate but i dont go mouthing off other styles of Martial Arts. At least i have the dicipline not to go insaulting other martial arts and their black belts.

I like the physical aspect of it. I had my first lesson today at the local community class and I enjoyed it immensely even when it hurt! I tried to relax and focus as best I could on the moves so, so many too take in. Im doing it mostly for the fitness and mental aspect.

Too bad my pc is slow because the whole video lagged due to the size of the video.

... what stopped me getting stabbed was my old gkr stuf i remembered in the heat of the moment, just to put this in perspective for you i'm 26 about 5'9" and i'm a shade over 10 stone sonot exactly your typical bruser both guys were about my age and both were bigger than me i'm now planning on rejoining GKR.

just thought i'd thow my voice in on this, so i left GKR back in 2005 because i got fed up whith it and thought i'd try some other styles as you do finaly setteling on wu shu kwan for a while, for those of you that don't know what this is it's a form of chinease kick boxing/kung fu so it's full contact sparing and there's some mma style groundwork as well, anyway about a year ago i got held up by 2 guys whith a knife and found that what worked and ... see next post.

They call this kumite black belt standard and wonder why everybody laughs at gkr,Its 3rd kyu level at best,sorry but it is.

It never ceases to amaze me that people stay with GKR knowing the reputation they have,all that time and effort for a black belt that isn't worth jack s##t,it's such a shame.Don;t get me wrong,i wrestled with my decision to leave and start again and it's the best thing i ever did.Gkr lessons are great for fitness and keeping in shape,but that's about it..
