It was due to poor design..
That's what happens when the engine throttle control and the thrust direction levers adjacent to eachother.

Why did it go lost altitude? Did something get caught in the engine or mechanical failure?

@aemj95 I believe that the Sea Harrier is a straight fighter whereas the Harrier is more of a fighter-bomber/ground attack plane

@KitCloudkickerUK It was most likely just him hovering in one spot to long. you cant do that with Helos and I believe the same rule aplies to VTOL
