Promotional music vid for the 1997album 20th Century Blues.

I like the intro where she talks about her friend Harry Nilsson (who wrote the song). Sorry for the poor picture quality, it was worse when I found it!

  • The albumfeaturing this Harry Nilsson song was '20th Century Blues', and it was released in 1997; Marianne toured in support of the album throughout 1968 - the tour was titled 'An Evening in the Weimar Republic' or the 'Weimar Cabaret' show. I think this is the legendary video made in Dublin (where Marianne then lived) by her friend, the equally legendary director John ('Deliverance') Boorman. Thanks so much for posting.

  • Thank you for the information, I have the album (all her albums actually!). Just love this video especially the talky intro bit, wish I could find it in a better quality..

  • So why would Marianne Faithful lie about her good friends death?? She just wouldn't! Harry was in god awful shape and I believe her! Harry was so GREAT and I'm glad to see him get some overdue recognition!!

  • beautiful.... she is one genius artist and uses HER talents to bring the house in and then down.,,, life fan..

  • So sweet

  • I like this rather, but is her story 'bout Harry a fake????

  • According to the documentry on his life, his wife Una said he died in bed while they were watching Enchanted April.. The earthquake was the day following his death though.

  • I love this version & have never seen this video/thank you so much for posting it,

  • I love this song and I love the way Marianne sings it. By the way, that's the great Paul Trueblood at the piano.

  • This is simply the most wonderful thing I have listened to in a while! Glad to have come back around to it!

  • Saw this on a video machine years ago, and still wonder if her

story about Harry's death is true. Great performance by Marianne. Miss you, Harry!
