I have never found spotted turtles in MA before. So I was really excited to find a MATING PAIR where the male was courting the female. Sorry for the shaking, I dont have a tripod yet. But never the less, AMAZING I'm really excited about this find.
The pictures of the lone female were taken prior to seeing the courting behavior. I found the female a couple hours prior to recording this video.
Pictures at.

  • MA is losing ALOT of its natural species. when i find eggs of these species, i take them home and make sure that ALL of them hatch in my garden, and then take them down to the marsh. In my area, over the past 7 years, the amount of spotted turtles in my marsh has trippled! SO exciting!

  • @tcurtisjr9 I'm in SE Mass and just saw a nice 5" male in Westport.
