This week Nurse Jamie takes a look at the details -- we're talking about manscaping those brows. A conversation with the one of the sexiest women around, Tron's Serinda Swan, reveals a couple of things women notice about men.
Reportedly the top 7 things women notice on a date are
1 Eyebrows
2 Nails
3 Skin
4 Feet
5 Nose/ear hair
6 Teeth
7 Back

Nurse Jamie recommends visiting a salon to have a professional give you a good basic shape that you can then take care of yourself.

Here are the options for men -- clipping, tweezing and waxing.

Clipping is easiest choice. Carefully clip the hairs along the top arch of the brow line and cut any excess hairs that do not flow with this natural line. This will make the brows to appear clean and maintained. To clip those brows on your own - brush your eyebrows against the grain and trim the ones that are sticking up and out. Start the trim out conservatively to minimize your risk of making a mistake. Now take the comb and place in down into the eyebrow at about a 45 degree angle. If you want it as short as possible, then press the comb somewhat close to the skin. If you want to just want a little off, move the comb a bit away from the skin. Use the scissors over the comb and cut the hair. The comb will keep you from getting too close, taking off too much hair or getting bald patches.
Tweezing is a great option to truly clean in and around the brow line and remove any excess hairs. While clipping can help groom the natural shape of your brow, tweezing can change and tighten your brow line, which is helpful if you find that your brows are too hairy or large. While you are there - you can also use the tweezers to remove extra hairs on your upper forehead and near your temples that are not connected directly to your eyebrows. If you want your eyes to appear more open and younger, tweeze under your brow line. But be careful -- tweezing too much under the brow arch will make you look over-groomed and feminine.
If you are considering waxing it's best to go to a salon -- many hair salons do their best to cater to men and offer a full array of services, including eyebrow grooming (usually ranging from $10 to $20). While you may feel comfortable with clipping and tweezing your brow at home, if deciding on a salon for waxing, make sure they use glycerin-based waxes so it does not dry out your forehead/brow region. Waxing can be extremely quick, taking less than three minutes and you can often achieve the exact shape of the eyebrows you want with no effort on your own.
Men's eyebrows usually end up getting really long as they age. Taking out this bulk really helps men look more groomed looking young. Some men experience the other end of the spectrum -- they start to loose patches of hair -- to fix this you can apply a little lash growing agent to the affected area -- you should start see results in 4 weeks -- maximum results in 16.
