@grumpyotter and B, them citing their experiments as being done in the name of science, and being called scientists, somewhat seriously, and seriously, respectively. The pretense of the people calling them scientists alone gets me, when the speaking parties had no experience with the field past high school physics and chemistry. I find it similar to an average runner being called great left and right as long as he shows 'some' ability, which, unfortunately, tends to happen quite often as well.
@grumpyotter Hey, I have no problem with them doing an entertaining show that is based around the subject of popular myths and quasi-scientific testing; the only two criticisms I have are those of, A, them being so definitive in quite a few of their conclusions (busted/confirmed, plausible doesn't get used nearly often enough imo) in spite of having, imo, fairly lackluster scientific credentials to their experiments;
@STorpedo Well, yeah, all that is true--but they do try to test hypotheses in variable-reducing ways. Even if they test them in very entertaining ways. I think they like science a whole lot, and I like THEM!
6:47 'They're scientists, y'know' A-HA-HA-HA! A-HA! Oh, man. Seriously, though, Craig has no understanding of what a scientist is, or what he/she does.
Mythbusters might've been considered scientists in the 18th or 19th century...but now...if any of their 'findings' were published in a scientific journal...they would be *torn apart*.
Not that this automatically disproves their knowledge of science, but the only one of them with a *science-related* degree is Grant! And he only did Elec. Eng.

@STorpedo Well, to be fair, *most* of their findings would be torn apart. There's some sound experiment design and data collection here and there.
