The film focuses the viewers attention towards Silicosis which is an occupational disease caused by exposure to very fine Silicon dust (0.5-5 µ). This disease destroys normal lung tissue. There is no treatment.
Alirajpur in Zabua District (Madhya Pradesh) is the place from where adivasi go to the silica powder making factories in neighbouring Gujrat. A tenure of two to three months of work in these thriving factories is sufficient to catch the decease! People in these region are dying at an alarming rate.
In the past two years 498 adivasi had a definite exposure to silica dust. Out of this158 are dead. 70 children below the age of 18 years who were affected out of whom 31 had died due to silicosis. Sadly, most of the faces you would see in the documentary shot a year ago, now do not exist.

Thank You for sharing this video. It Seems the People there need to learn to stand up for each other against those who only continue to exploit thier passive and un educated ways. This has happened all over the world and when the people realize the power of masses. change occurs. Until then the government will keep you all ignorant! All of You!
