We showed this video to a packed house at the fundraiser on February 12th at Woodway Country Club. It did not transfer that well, but this video tells our story from the first seizure to the creation of the RE Children's Project.

When Shawna got RE in 1977 in Los Angeles doctors did not call it RE, they said they didn't know what is was. Very hard to see your child suffer so with no diagnosis! "Experimental" surgery performed in St. Louis, MO, partial hemispherecomy. It took 30 yrs before we got a diagnosis ("classic Rasmussens") and sought a second surgery. Ironic that Los Angeles Children's Hosp is now a major hemi center but in 1977 they had no idea what to do for Shawna. I'd like to see more progress.

Mom of Shawna, age 37, RE at age 3. 1st surgery 1979, re-do 2010. Still not seizure free, but much better.
We NEED to stop this horrible disease. It hurts my heart to know this is still happening to our beautiful children.
