The 3rd Open James William Carling Pavement Art Competition !
In celebration of the life and times of the Liverpool born Victorian pavement artist James William Carling (1857-1887) a competition was open to all artists and offered the opportunity to showcase their works and talents on the streets of Liverpool !
The competition was open to both professional and amateur artists and in keeping with the work of James William Carling it was a ' Traditional Italian ' Street Painting competition involving the chalks/pastels being ' Screeved ' directly onto the pavement; exactly as James would have done it !
