Hemp could Save the rainforest, end global warming, and save the Farmers all over the world

Hemp is one of the most versatile plants known to mankind. Its fibres can be used for textiles and ropes or made into paper. Its seeds are a valuable food rich in unsaturated oils, which can also be used as fuel. Hemp requires few pesticides as it quickly outgrows any weeds. It leaves the soil clean for other crops. When hemp stalks are dew-retted in the fields most nutrients are returned to the soil for the next crop.

Music by Moondog (Louis Thomas Hardin), May 26, 1916- September 8, 1999)

Born in Marysville, Kansas, he started playing a set of drums that he made himself from a cardboard box at the age of five. Hardin was blinded in a farm accident at the age of 16. After learning the principles of music in several schools for blind young men across middle America, he taught himself the skills of ear training and composition. Principally self-taught, he studied with Burnet Tuthill and at the Iowa School for the Blind. He had a particular interest in Native American music.

rom the late 1940s until 1974, Moondog lived as a street musician and poet in New York City, busking mostly on 53rd Street and 6th Avenue in Manhattan. In addition to his music and poetry, he was also known for the distinctive Viking garb that he wore, which included a horned helmet. He partially supported himself by selling copies of his poetry and his musical philosophy. Because of his street post's proximity to the famed 52nd Street nightclub strip, he was well-known to many jazz musicians and fans.

  • I think this video completely misses the point of the song... the privilege to smoke weed or not is still a HUMAN right.

We're so worried about what we're doing to each other that we're close our eyes to what we're doing to everything else... and as such, what makes us more privileged than any of these things anyways?

  • go ahead and smoke a bunch of weed if you want, it's your human right, but this video is primarily about HEMP which was outlawed right alongside its female counterpart (the budding variety).

You completely miss the point of this video, Hemp could save the rainforests, end global warming (even if it is a scam), provide food for all types of animals, not to mention a vegetarian source of protein...

nothing makes us more privileged, but we have to take responsibility for damages to the env.

  • Legalize It!

  • I'm from poland. In my country marijuana is illegal. I'm very sad.

  • Wow....I couldn't say it any better!!!

I believe another human being should have the right to puff on his herb in is space. The fact that I can't legally grow hemp for food, clothing, shelter, fuel, to name a few, is the real criminality. That's what we should be really up in arms about.

  • the government has its own idea about how to save the planet...but this involves decreasing the population by 90 % this doesnt have to happen...obviously. it doesnt HAVE to be these ppl that continue to sufficate the world with thier careless envirormental policies, who MUST continue making the choices for the rest of the people and the planet we all live on...

  • aye and it's more efficent...

    google videos like:

    "in pot we trust",

    "the union",

"waiting to inhale"... spread the word!

  • very inspiring

    :)

  • hemp should obviously be legal. and the main problems with cannabis come from smoking it alone. if it were legal everybody could smoke it together

  • moondogs songs touch me SO deep!

    hemp rights => plant rights

    nature cannot be illegal

don´t want to go to prison just because i walk through forest and collect mushrooms
