Building my large roulette wheel
Using a cut off from a solid oak kitchen work top!! A compass, router, a hand built lathe and a record player!!!
Measured the diameter and depth of the record players turn table, cut out the dims of the turn table on one side of the wood. (Drilled a centre whole all the way through first). the finished wheel will house the turn table giving me perfect spinning action on the finished wheel
Turn over and using the router cut out the general shape of the wheel.....
When happy, cut the routed wheel out of the work top (using the router on both sides and the top side a little larger..5mm).
now time to turn the wood, chisels come in handy now along with sand paper and few hours indy shed

  • I finally finished the wheel last night. the only real thing to sort is a good polish. works blindingly. I have my first Casino party night on Saturday for someones 40th so i will let you know how it went. also supply Black jack, funny money, BBQ and full spit roast (pig or lamb) should be a good night now.

Do i build for others?. I am thinking about it.. i see no reason why not but it's up to the missis!!!! time in the shed does not always go down well. I will let you know.

    Many thanks

  • What did the finished wheel look like? Also, do you build them for other people?

  • That's awesome!!! I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product. I am building a roulette table for myself, but don't have the resources or equipment or tools to build a wheel. Hopefully the missis will let you build one more for me ;-)
