Pictures of the proposed new ground in Stanley Park, combined with a short farewell to Anfield.

These pictures aren't mine but allegedly they were taken in the architect's office on a mobile phone.

In my opinion they look 100% genuine and I believe this will be the new stadium but feel free to make up your own mind about their authenticity.

  • The only thing I would change is the trim of the glass entrances. Currently they appear to much alike shopping mall security doors. I would prefer a more Victorian trim similar to the Gladstone Conservatory which sits in Stanley Park...

  • Keep in mind this new stadium design is also going to generate revenues as a conference center as well as being a football stadium. Its going to sit honorably in a park hopefully next to Anfield Plaza, a mixed used development of hotels, offices, restaurants, and lounges.

Too many see only a football stadium... There is much more in the package to regenerate the whole area of Anfield...

  • OMFG yee just rooned this great fukin song, HILSBROUGH BASTERDS!

  • @RichySKing as for your knowledgeable insight on the liverpool fans just sitting back and having no rebellion in your message to stejayy, i guess you were not involved or even seen the protests before, during and after matches, the boyycot of not going to some games.

  • @RichySKing firstly, you are a muppet, all these opinions and no foundation. i still stand by my opinion about the stadium, it is fantastic, if you had any knowlage you would see that modern buildings seem to take on a abstract characteristic, irrespective of the use of the building, if you have noticed recently, the new buildings being built in liverpool city centre are all irregular looking, hence abstract.

  • @bones6823

A lot has happened within the 2 years since you posted that compliment praising the design of the stadium.

Now I ask you, have you joined the rest of us and realised that it is a truly disgusting piece of modern architecture monstrocity?

Or does your tiny brain still think it "Looks fantastic"???

  • Remove Hicks and Gillett!

  • Recent press reports suggest dirt may be flying during April, 2010. The financing will be arranged during the first quarter of 2010. If so, I would suspect the stadium will be finished sometime during 2012. Its a shame the financial markets crashed during 2008 delaying this project.

  • ffs ready for the start of 2010/11 season, so depressing 2 think we could move in now but arent :(

  • Beautiful stadium which should attract a hefty naming sponsor to help pay for it. No one will confuse this stadium with the other new bowl stadiums. HKS did a great job designing this one unlike the others.
