Ryan Evans of Texas Tackle Factory and Jason Bryant, editor of InshoreFan.com, sight-casting to redfish from a Beavertail poling skiff in the marshes near Galveston, Texas.

All fish were caught on Texas Tackle Factory Killer Flats Minnows in Mumpy Glow rigged on 1/4-ounce Tru-Tungsten Redfish Stealth jigheads (chartreuse) - www.TexasTackleFactory.com / www.Tru-Tungsten.com

  • Wow yea u need lighter gear. If u want to see a real redfish fight on light tackle check out " Red fishing with dad 2 1 remix"

  • Nope, this gear is perfect for the way we fish. We fish tournaments and you need the heavier gear to get these fish to the boat as quickly as possible. During the summer, if you let the fish fight too long they'll fight to the brink of death. The fish in this video were all lower-slots. The fish we target during tournaments typically weigh 7-9 pounds, and sometimes heavier.

    We use heavy gear to help ensure the well-being of the fish during hot weather (low oxygen). Heavy gear = less stress.

  • nice fish understand about heavy gear but gotta agree 10lb with 20lb leader light pole and small open face is the way we roll, gotta finess the fish and enjoy the fight just help them recover if needed.
