gotta say the 2007 version truck death was pretty unexpected for me, considering he was a main character

I've seen both the original & the remake & I thought they were both as good as each other. The 1986 truck scene really made me jump when Nash was torn in half at that sudden moment - because she was a supporting character, it got away fine to not show her death. The 2007 truck scene made me squirm when it actually shows poor Jim getting ripped in half. For me that worked too - by showing the lead's death, I not only cringed, but also completely sympathised with him.
