a very simple test of sending audio clock on the cue output of the octatrack to the monotribe sync in, the fader on the octatrack modifies the repeat rate of the audio clock from 1/8 to 1/16 notes. audio from the monotribe is fed back to the octatrack with effects applied and two buffers records synth and drums separately thru manual triggering of the octatrack one shot recording trigger function.

Yeah, I since got one and when syncing via its pulse sync in from a daw out put the timing is spot on :)

  • @harrymerchant456 I think you're just hearing how the sequence on the Monotribe is kinda offbeat compared to the beat playing on the Octatrak... but they are playing "in time." I've heard that the Mono has no issues keeping sync as long as it is fed a proper tick.

  • reading the manual wont give anyone any even tiny idea of how dope and vast the octatrack is. hook it into quite literally ANY audio source and let the beats fly. its the sequencer that made the Machinedrum a cult classic only now instead of drumsynth its anysynth. serious bizness for serious musicians.

cool track by the way :-)

  • Surely I cant be the only one to spot the monotribes poor sync. Clearly from the videos I have watched the thing has some issues keeping a tight sync. Bear in mind being in time (which it is sort of) is a lot different from in time - locked 0n sync -grrovin. For that you need mega stable clocks which the monotribe doesnt have

  • phat analog! so cheap and easy (the monotribe, that is)

  • great stuff

  • Good stuff, nice to see this combo in action.

  • How easy is it to capture audio on the fly with the Octatrack ?I've almost read the manual and am still considering it, but reading the manual isn't the same as having it.

Being able to capture audio creations on the fly is a must for me.

Great stuff I loved it, I have a monotribe too, dirty little munchkin it is.

  • So you just send an audio level pulse to the sync in on each beat? Its that simple to sync? Cool.

  • I was about to ask how you got the monotribe to sync up with the rest of your gear but then I read the rest of the description lol. This rocks!
