It's Going To Be Okay - Season 3 Episode 5

*A month later, everyone finally finished the year at school. Joe and David both graduated from college, leaving Nick, Selena, and Miley with one year to complete. They had all decided to take a trip to Florida, in celebration of Joe and Davids graduation. About a week before they had planned on going, Demi started feeling week, unable to do much of anything. She had been experiencing abnormal cramping, sometimes too severe to be able to work. Soon enough she had begun feeling nauseous on a daily basis. There was one day about a week before the trip that she had called in sick to work because of how ill she was feeling. That morning, before Joe had to leave for work, Demi had starting throwing up uncontrollably for about an hour, then finally stopped*
Demi: (Walking out of the bathroom, holding onto her waist, and dabbing her mouth with a towel)
Joe: (Sitting up in bed, with a smile on his face)
Demi: (Sits on the edge of the bed, confused) Why are you smiling?
Joe: Youve been tired
Demi: (Nods)
Joe: Had cramping
Demi: (Nods)
Joe: Nauseous
Demi: (Nods)
Joe: (Smiles again) And now youre sick.
Demi: What about all of this is making you happy?
Joe: Dem, do you think maybe youre pregnant?
Demi: (Shakes her head) No, no I cant be
Joe: (Smiles even wider) Are you sure?
Demi: (Starts to gather tears in her eyes)
Joe: (Slides down the bed and sits next to her) Dont cry. If you are thats amazing.
Demi: (Shakes her head again) We just had Noah and Sophie, Joe. I cant have another baby right now. I dont want another one.
Joe: (Saddened) You dont?
Demi: (Sighs) Not right now.
Joe: Oh.
Demi: Joe, please dont be like that. Besides, when I was pregnant with the twins, the symptoms werent like this. It wasnt this bad.
Joe: Youre right.
Demi: (Looks at him) Im sorry.
Joe: No, no dont be. I love you.
Demi: I love you too.
Joe: Are you going to be okay here by yourself if I go to work?
Demi: (Nods) Ill be fine.
Joe: Will you at least go see a Doctor?
Demi: Ill be fine, Im sure its just the flu or something. Itll pass.
Joe: Please? Im worried about you.
Demi: No, Joe. Stop worrying, Im fine.
Joe: Alright, but unless youre better the day after tomorrow, I will take you to see a doctor myself.
Demi: (Kisses him) Have a good day at work.
Joe: (Kisses her again) Ill see you later. Call me if you need anything.
Demi: (Smiles and nods as Joe leaves)

*Two days later, Demi had gotten worse. She wouldnt go more than ten minutes without being sick, and she had gotten weaker by the hour. She was once again alone, and that afternoon she had collapsed on her way to get some water. She laid on the floor about two hours unconscious before anyone got home. The twins had been crying and crying, until Nick finally arrived. He had gotten off work before anyone else, and always came to visit the twins. He had a key to the house, so he let himself in, and immediately went to the nursery. Once he noticed Demi wasnt with them, he got worried. He then searched the rest of the house looking for her, eventually yelling her name, trying to find her. The last room he checked was the kitchen. Once he got there he ran over to Demi and began shaking her to wake her up. He took out his phone and called an ambulance. Within five minutes, the paramedics arrived and took Demi to the hospital. The only person that Nick could think of to call was Mitchell, seeing as how he was the only person that wasnt working*
Mitchell: (Knocks on the door)
Nick: (Opens the door)
Mitchell: I got here as fast as I could, what happened?
Nick: I dont know. I got here and the twins were crying. I looked around and then found Demi unconscious. Shes on her way to the hospital. Youre the only one I could think of to watch the twins until Joe gets home. I have to go to the hospital.
Mitchell: Okay, go. Ill stay here. Let me know what happens, okay? Make sure shes alright.
Nick: Thanks (Leaves)
Mitchell: (Walks into the house, and takes care of Noah and Sophie)
