We all remember the day the Seattle P-I's presses stopped (March something, and they still print the Seattle Times actually). But what happened after that? Now, in an exclusive monologue, the Seattle P-I speaks out about how it's adjusting to an all digital world. (Hint: It's not).

  • Thanks, BrolyDog.

The supposed rationale for not using audio was that we wanted the animation itself to conjure up qualities such as inflection, cadence and amplitude.

That such cleverness has not been rewarded with tens of millions of views and a book deal represents the biggest injustice in human history.

I mean seriously, imagine the potential this format holds. It's like a webcomic, but without the burden of being able to read at your own pace.

  • Anyway, if you're curious about whether we learned our lesson or not, check out our follow up video LIZ 9000 (hint: we did not learn anything).

  • Cleavage may be vital for going viral, but audio is equal to or more (more) important to going viral.

    -Nice use of Kinetic Typography
