It's not useless. Just like there are memobooks AND notebooks AND paper pads. I'd rather read...say a Playboy mag on an iPad over an iPhone/iTouch or slaved at a desktop computer or an awkward clamshell laptop. And Kindle and Nook cannot do color. Most of the apps will be better with a bigger screen. And like thatJackal comment with Star Trek. In Star Trek, they had both a Data Pad and a Communicator.

The iPad is a laptop killer.

It has wi-fi (the more expensive model) and a "usb" connection (something like the white cord that came with the iPhone and iTouch). How do you think Apple wants you to plug the thing into your computer to load your songs from iTunes?
