I agree with AirelonTrading and taiyoshin, but i want to add, it's called modern technology. Do you expect the same cardboard sets of when the original was made in a movie made now?
I sort of had similiar thoughts, but I am looking at it this way.
The best stories? Are retold in a variety of methods. They come to be 'adopted' by mankind, and then they are told in a million different ways (Beaowulf, Lord of the Rings, any story by Shakespeare, etc).
So if anything? A re-imagining is a compliment to the story of Star Trek, AS a story.
well if Paramount is trying to kill Star Trek they've found the right way to do it...since when was the bridge ever white and looked like a cocktail bar? this will be the biggest bomb ever!
