"Electricity in the 17th and 18th Centuries" is a beaut; a very useful and informative book. Every electrical science and electrical engineering student should learn this history, in particular the debate between electrical current being one or two fluids. I think there is a good argument for two different particles which combine with each other but not with themselves, similar to acid-base combination.
