I've just completed building the area where I plan to house the breeding colonies that will populate our aquaponics farm here at CCCM. Aside from the filtration media, the total build cost was roughly $250.

  • Will you put any plants in the bottom of the hatchery? Or is it only for breeding fish? Love the design, I was just unclear on how the waist get filtered out.

  • Your drain tubes that aerate are pure genius! I LOVE your set up. I just built my first unit and am having a great time with it. Keep it up!

  • that is slick man. nice setup

  • How did you connect the stand pipe to the breeding tank. I saw something black but I could not make it out.

  • sweet setup..lava rock works great for bacteria as it has huge surface area because of the pores..luv the free air pump action..peace.

  • Great set up! Couple of questions, what kind of pump was that? Where did you find the bulk drum fittings? and is that 1" or 3/4" PVC you are using?

  • Great idea!! Keep it up.

  • That was a brilliant movie and a novel way of aerating six tanks with just one pump.
