I've just completed building the area where I plan to house the breeding colonies that will populate our aquaponics farm here at CCCM. Aside from the filtration media, the total build cost was roughly $250.
Will you put any plants in the bottom of the hatchery? Or is it only for breeding fish? Love the design, I was just unclear on how the waist get filtered out.

Your drain tubes that aerate are pure genius! I LOVE your set up. I just built my first unit and am having a great time with it. Keep it up!

How did you connect the stand pipe to the breeding tank. I saw something black but I could not make it out.

sweet setup..lava rock works great for bacteria as it has huge surface area because of the pores..luv the free air pump action..peace.

Great set up! Couple of questions, what kind of pump was that? Where did you find the bulk drum fittings? and is that 1" or 3/4" PVC you are using?

That was a brilliant movie and a novel way of aerating six tanks with just one pump.
