TECH LAB 1700 21st Ave S Seattle, WA 98144 http://www.techlab102.com. We're a local computer and cell phone service center. Our shop hours are mon-sat 11-6pm.

On a difficulty scale of 1-10, it's on a solid 6. Should take you about 15-20 mins to disassemble the phone. You just need a 00 philips screw driver, a plastic prying tool, 3M spray on adhesive (or double sided tape), heat gun (or hair dryer), and lots of patience.

Be super careful with the LCD ribbon throughout the job, some parts of it is very thin and delicate. That hidden screw underneath the white sticker on the magnesium alloy panel took me a while to figure out...luckily for you viewers out there, there is no hide and seek for that screw, it's shown right on this video.

  • the 3m is great, but messy. found a new solution, contact cement would also work well. dries in 10mins and you have about an hour to adhere the pieces together.

  • That's my phone for yah.

  • @dogchow445 sorry to hear that, hope you're able to fix it with the tutorial

  • I need to do this for mine and it looks almost exactly like that one....I went to the sprint store today and they told me I need to replace the LCD not the optimizer. I am confused. All my touch options work fine though just have a serious crack. When is part being posted?

  • @scaredem24 the digitizer is the surface, is the surface of the glass cracked? or is it coming from the inside? the inside is the LCD. will do part II very soon, stay tuned.

  • If I were doing this for somebody else I would have a padded surface to avoid scratches.

  • Awesome video. However he cut the part where you remove the data cable from the digitizer, so I did not know how to remove it. I broke the plug and now I have to trash the phone :( rather sad. Wish he had shown that part.

  • I need a video for doing this for a Samsung Transform. Any chance you have one?

  • can you make a tutorial on how to replace a charge port for this phone because mine recentley broke?

  • You could have just removed the glass to begin with...without taking the whole phone apart. All I need to do is replace the screen.

  • it all worked out but when i turned on the phone the touch screen didnt work if you can pleaseeeee help

  • Alright, so I have an intercept with a cracked up screen that I purchased the replacement lens/digitzer for and am hoping it will be similar to this disassembly. Do you know first hand if it is very similarto the samsung moment or if it is totally different and i'll be making this up as I go along?? Wish I could find a tutorial on an intercept.. Any help you could offer would be great!

  • i cant find the 2 screws under the beauty stickers eather

  • UMMm excuse me me and my step dad used your vid and it all worked out but when i turned on the phone the touch screen didnt work help please!!/???

  • @techlab102

What happens if you have to remove the glass again? Will the contact cement be too hard to "unglue" with a heatgun?
