Maria McKee is an eclectic singer songwriter whose varied career spans more than 20 years and many genres. Outside her small but enthusiastic fan base this is possibly Maria's best known song, having been a #1 hit in the UK and across the world. After the demise of her country-rock band Lone Justice she launched a solo career in 1989 with the release of her debut solo album, which, despite receiving rave reviews from critics, was under-promoted with the record company refusing to release a single from it. In the summer of 1990 Maria was invited to sing the love song from the film soundtrack Days of Thunder, and after the commercial success of Show Me Heaven in late 1990, her debut solo album was reissued in early 1991 with a UK tour to follow. The tour was a triumph with Maria playing a mixture of solo tracks, oldies from her Lone Justice era with Irish backing band Moby Dick, as well as a few choice covers and her 2 most famous songs -- A Good Heart (a #1 hit for Feargal Sharkey in 1985) and an acoustic rendition of Show Me Heaven. Well known for her passionate live performances,
this was filmed at the London Town and Country Club on 25 March 1991.
