Water is good. Parameters are fine. Time to add the live rock and substrate. I ended up putting in about 230 pounds of live rock and 140 pounds of live sand. At first I wasn't particularly pleased with the aquascaping, but after the water cleared and I got a good look at it, I kind of like it. Pardon the timelapse video quality - I used my laptop camera to do it, and the lighting was poor, so I bumped the brightness and added an old time video effect. The next video will be of the refugium. Happy Thanks Giving all!

  • how long did it take your tank to clear up and did you turn on all your circulation, or turn it off to let it settle? i just put water and sand in my 55 today and visibility is about 1.5 inches. i have only 1 powerhead going but my filter is off...please help

  • @BowHunt1229 Hey man, it may take a couple of days. The best thing to do is to keep your circulation on. If you turn it off and it settles, it will cloud up again when you turn your circulation back on. I think mine took almost a solid week. Just be patient, it will eventually clear up. Even if it takes a week, just hang in there :)

  • Awesome aquascape job.

  • @jmurr8484 Thanks! I wasn't sure if I liked it at first, but it's working out pretty well.

  • please please reply how much roughly did all this live rock cost thanks ross

  • @rosscopossco You can generally expect to pay about $8-$10 per pound for good, healthy liverock. Your mileage may vary, but when it comes to the health of your system, it's best to be very very patient and to not always cut corners. (Some things are worth paying for) WHat kind of setup are you starting?
