  • what i admire most about peter bernstein is that he never ever, not ONE single time seems to be playing a note that would be anything close to unintentional. his phrasing is impeccable, and he's always on top of what he's doing. speaking of pure technique, there are better players (metheny anyone?), but when it comes to note choice, taste, development of motives etc etc, he's surely on par with the best.

  • I play the sax but I find in PBernstein one of the most inspiring musicians in the jazz world.

    The first solo I transcribed was Nobody Else but Me from '95 Signs of Life (i played guitar back then)...I still know how to whistle it :))) I just wanted to show some respect for the man here. thanks Peter.
