This video is the 2nd that I've made about my 7yr old son with Autism.
Vinnie was diagnosed at the Grand River Pre-School Diagnostic Center in the fall of /06 at age 5.
He was diagnosed as a Moderate case of Aspergers Syndrome, which is one of the many forms of Autism on the spectrum to date.
Autism is on the rise, and is becomming more common as the years go by.
Infact...Autism is in higher numbers than childhood obesity.
Autism is 4 times more likely to occur to boys then girls.
There is no cure for Autism, nor anyone to blame.
Studies have shown that the only known cause of Autism has been genetics.
If you feel that your child may be affected by Autism....there are people & places you can contact to get your child assesed as I did.
It may seem hard to get a diagnosis, but be patient, & once you do....
a whole new world of opportunities arise, & school boards are very good at getting your child the extra care and attention they need.
I hope you enjoy my video.....I'm not much of a writer or video maker, & some people on here seem to be great with it!
But I did my best.
Thanks-you. Valerie M.

  • LOL....you make ME sick! I made this video so that the other parents with Autistic children can see that it's not so bad...a lot of them see it as a tragedy! I like the fact that he is different as he has helped me see the world through his eyes and I am now a lot more sensitive because of it. You don't know shit about me!

I do not "baby" my son! he is one of the toughest kids I've ever seen actually!

Autism is not "fake" it's a neuralogical brain disorder...it's medical science and a fact!

  • Thank you lovegodess9 :) You are defiantly not alone....the numbers are going up and more and more people are becomming aware.

Not that it's good to have a dissability...but I don't see it as bad either...good thing is with the numbers growing...the Autistic kids are not going to feel alone for long either, they will know there are people out there just like them.

Shed some light on their future so to speak :)

  • Going on 11th grade I still don't have many friends, but I have three best friends who I can count on.

  • You are not alone, I have Asperger's Syndrome so I know exactly what you and ypur son are going through. I'm sure if he has Asperger's he has an "obsession" with one or more topics and can tell you every detail know about that topic. Probably the most frustrating thing about Asperger's is the social difficulties that occur. I didn't really notice that I was "different" from others until I was in 5th grade.

  • My son has so many of the same traits as your beautiful son. Where it was the whales for your son it is the elephants for mine. Do not let ignorant minded people get the best of you. Autism is very real and for those to say other wise are not worth wasting our breath on. My child is a true blessing but he is also battling a disorder that none of us will every understand. God bless you and your family.
