I dislike Brannagh's version.
I say this because he doesn't seem in control. He's all over the place. The whole idea behind hamlet is that he's in control of his "madness" (I essentially am not in madness, but mad in craft {which I have proudly tattoo'd on my left inner bicep, but that is besides the point}), but this scene just makes him seem fully daft and loopy and not having any idea what he's doing.
Kenneth Brannagh also likes LOTS OF ANGRY YELLING, which in my opinion takes away from

@gestalt422 I wouldn't mind hearing about it :)

I love the sudden transition from his raging "YET YOU CANNOT PLAY UPON ME!" and then immediately goes "God bless you sir" at 2:43.

I always wish, now, that I had a pipe on hand when someone thinks me daft, just to use this speech...

This scene, more than any other, convinced me that this was the best production of Hamlet ever. The manic energy, and barely repressed violence in this scene is great. Without boring anyone with the details I will say that I have some background in psychological studies, and can say that his performance reminded me very much of the symptoms associated with Bordeline Personality Disorder...it's uncanny.

I would like to add that the first time I watched Kenneth Branagh's Hamlet it" hath struck me into amazement and admiration" for its several and perfect long shots. GREAT!
