Why'd they take the doors off though? Surely they provide SOME structural integrity

I just love 3 second videos.

No, my cousin was saying someone drove home after hitting a truck. It's possible, but this test shows how un-safe those old boats were. So many factors go into a crash. The yaris is designed to score 5 stars in a frontal crash, but not a telephone pole. Frontal collisions are not all the same. I think HONDA has the safest design with their ACE body structure. I could be wrong. idk. whatever.

@civicminded76 So you ride in the trunk? You should've seen the Yaris that was split in a half by a telephone pole down my street, that was vicious.

Door latches seemed to be a sore spot in those 60 Plymouths...Taking the doors off those '63 Plymouths proved what? Fords (Crown Vics) still explode when hit at a high rate of speed...Any car would!!

Ford is not part of GM.

Hello All!
These Crash Tests were conducted by UCLA in California to test Seat Belts with Dummies that were Buckled/Unbuckled in cars as they were trying to help improve Automotive Safety. GM never crashed tested Fords or any other make of car. This is how Automotive Safety was researched & improved upon over the years. Take Care.

That stuff is CRAZY!
My cousin keeps going on and on, about how they used "real steel" back in the day, and how all those old steel frame boats are way safer, and more tank like then new cars. -That trunk was demolished! No way am I going to 'drive home' in that thing when it's been hit like that.
