@Operaticgunballet17 If by "modern death metal" you mean deathcore, you're right, because that sucks just as much as metalcore does. If by modern death metal you mean ACTUAL death metal, then you have no idea what you're talking about. There's a reason scene kids are attracted to metalcore, you know. Deathcore and metalcore are the trendy thing in metal and they're formulaic as fuck (pedal riff, breakdown, pedal riff, breakdown, breakdown, breakdown).

I will say though, yes AILD all sounds the same, but lots of metalcore doesn't. And if you argue that, look at most metal bands. Its impossible to find a band that doesn't have the same sound in all songs. That sound in their songs is what makes them a band.

you put emo there, man you have no idea what metalcore is, i have listened to metal all my life, i love megadeth, metallica, iron maiden, exodus, and other metal bands, but i love metalcore too, i know that currently son emo bands name their music metalcore...NO, that crappy emo bands are EMO, real metalcore is not emo, is good, so good for me.

Im pretty sure every genre has crappy bands, sure metalcore is pretty saturated (very much so ) but i could name tons of awesome fuckin metalcore bands, just the ones that attract teenie boppers and scene kids are gayy, Listen to Sumatra, Erra, August burns red (get a lot of flack but are extremely talented) Heart of a coward, Rise to remain (amazing). I mean i could make a video about how much modern death metal sucks but I DON'T because this is a classic "my dick is bigger then yours" video.
