After you have mastered the remounting technique we take this skill a step further. This skill is very useful when you need to check or clear your rudder or in case you need to assist a fellow paddler from the water. It is important to note that we always use leg or paddle leashes in open water although we didn't include them in these swimming pool videos. We did that on purpose in order to simplify the learning process. Later on we will add on videos of these techniques performed in more challenging open water environment and demonstrating the use of leg and paddle leash.

Enjoy!

  • As a beginner paddler-soon my wife will join me once her V8 arrives- I am very thankful you are showing techniques in video for others to learn.

    Thank you,

    Robert

  • Thanks for another excellent video. I paddle at high tide and my local beach has a very steep drop off into deep water so this technique will help me with more dignified landings.

  • Thanks for another very useful tip. I beach start into deep water, so this will allow me a more dignified dismount.
