@BygPhattyPlus Yeah Pretty much, the thing with fourth though is that it is very balance. You would like fourth, you might want to check it out. The thing about fourth is that every class is heavily balanced, and every class has a role to play, with out being obsolete. The fighter for example, is essentially the defender, he can get up front, push enemies back with his skills and defend, where as the Warlord can buffer and give allies additional attacks. Its quite the system to say the least.
@MagusX1 That's good. Mages are powerful enough without giving them the ability to cast a Rolling Fire and kiil all the enemies and steal the XP for any of the other party members can even get their weaapons out.
@BygPhattyPlus I think you bring up a good point about the balance issues with DnD 3e. Quick casting was again one of the many options a mage can have, and the mages and other arcane classes had way too many options where as other classes did not. Now with 4e, you donot have things like quick casting or things like that, fortunatley.
Sounds good. To be honest, I got out of D&D because some of the abilitis are so overpowered and unless you have a fair group, those powers WILL be abused (like Quick Casting), thus ruining the game for others.
I have more gotten into Warghammer, since I like that it's a space opera, but there's still some fantasy swordplay involved.
Also, since you are checking out obscure boardgames,l you should look up Talisman. It's a crazy game.
@MagusX1 your right, its costly, and it doesn't get any better when they decide to have a price rise, but i still think its fun to play
