In 2005, the roof came off the tent at Barrett Jackson when the 1954 Oldsmobile F-88 GM Concept Car hit the block. Designed by legendary Harley Earl and used as his personal daily driver, this one-of-a-kind car caught the interest of more than one collector and a bidding war erupted. After climbing to 7 figures slowing down around $1M, the bidding took off again and climbed to a selling price of $3M - a record at that time at Barrett Jackson. The car is displayed at the Gateway Auto Museum in Colorado.
