Nobody had made it yet, so I decided somebody should.
Lest people think I'm being mean to James Cameron, bear in mind its from his own mouth that his latest science fiction movie is based on the Disney film Pocahontas. This video was an attempt to see how close the parallels run and the result was...pretty darn close.
Just some good natured fiun made at the expense of a film I consider taking itself way too seriously.

This is also an attempt to upload a video in HD resolution. I hope it works.

I own neither Avatar or Pocahontas. The rights to use the images and sounds are covered in the Parody clause.

  • Pochahontas ripped off Avatar, then traveled back in time to make money for the original script, but then realize that CGI was impossible back then, and so, had to make a cartoon.

  • @Griesmayer

Stop reading from James Cameron's excuse notes! XD

  • And if you think about it, "Titanic" was basically "Aladdin" on a sinking ship, with bits and pieces of "Beauty and the Beast" thrown in.

  • @emlodik

I think the only original films James Cameron has made to date is his first one, Piranha 2 XD

  • So many lols in this video!

  • @crewmannumber7

    I hoped so :)

  • I don't understand why people get so upset because Pocahontas isn't historically correct. Would you really want your kids to watch a movie about slaughtered native Americans? If you have a problem with the movie then don't watch it or show it to your kids. Also if you have a problem with this video then why are you watching it in the first place? I'm not trying to sound rude or anything, but it seems like it would be a lot easier if people didn't watch things they didn't like then resulting in

  • @somethingfunny18

    Some people would.

But the issue is that to be truly historically correct those nature loving peaceful tribesman would also have to be represented as the warlike people they were. Do these people honestly think the paint, bows, and spears were for show? Real history is much more interesting and varied.

I can honor people for defending something they enjoy. The problem is when they do so to hateful purpose.

    Like Avatar itself.
