Brings tears to my eyes, hard to beat a good hearty Irish ballad!
-
Darren Holden does really well singing this song.
-
Neither singer sings this beautiful song is better than the other, both are brilliant, just in very different ways, from a great Luke fan, may he rest in peace
-
In één woord: Geweldig.
-
The last song dan white would ever hear. Rest well, and continue battling your demons in hell.
-
Especially when you are listen this song sang by the "early Phil Coulter", shortly after the song has been written...
-

That's not the point. This is Phil's song. Luke's version is truly amazing, but Phil Coulter feels this song like only its writer can. He was there to see the destruction of his beloved Derry, and he can feel the vivid images awakened by this song like no other.
Luke Kelly was an amazing musician and singer, God rest his soul, but even he cannot nor any other can match the quality of Phil Coulter singing his song. As he said himself, "This is the song I wish to be remembered for."
