The rebelliousness of Manchester is born out of the history of its people. Peterloo, the Chartists, the Cotton Famine, the Pankhursts. The Glazers could have walked into any other football club in the Premier League and been welcomed. Instead they were met with mass protests, the formation of a breakaway club and the LUHG campaign. Manchester has a long and proud history of fighting for what is right.

The song is 'The Ballad of Accountng ' written by Ewan MacColl and sung with Peggy Seegers.Ewan also famously wrote "Dirty Old Town".

  • The Lancashire cotton mill workers standing with the slaves in the American Civil War has to be one of the best examples of solidarity ever. If only people today knew what the word solidarity meant we wouldn't be getting fucked over as often as we do.
