On CD at http://dulcimersarego.com now.

A simple piece for GDC mountain dulcimer, joined here by a standard tuned guitar and my diy lapsteel instrument, the gourdtar.

Mountain dulcimer is also known as Appalachian dulcimer...

  • this really touched me on a variety of levels...among them is admiration for how well it was arranged and mixed, but on an emotional level it just made me stop and listen...sweetly done

  • Hey, thanks a lot, David. I'm glad it worked for you! This one has always been a favorite of mine, actually -- I guess its probably one of the first tunes I ever made up on the dulcimer 18 yrs ago or so.

  • Very nice, is that dulcimer tuned ggdc, or gdcc?

  • The tuning is G D CC (well, actually, I'm only playing with three strings on the dulcimer, so it's literally G D C). That is, the bass string is G, the "melody" string is C.
