The Senate has passed ABX3 14, a corrections reform bill that improves the performance of Californias correctional system, preserves public safety and will allow the state to achieve the $1.2 billion in Corrections cuts agreed to in the 2009-10 budget.
ABX3 14 makes changes in sentencing, probation supervision, alternative custody, parole and credits for good behavior. These changes will provide mechanisms to lower the states prison population and save the state $1.2 billion.
