I think those who think Boeing is the 'Best", and remember there is no precise definition of "BEST", are those mostly in America, who tend to be against a Co-Op building method from different Counties rather than perhaps different States?
As an example, the USA most well known Co-Op venture was and is the NASA Organisation. They might beg to differ but the fact is the different parts were made is widely distant States, far and away further apart than the European Country doing this A380

You know I've always wondered when the America built the 747 they bragged that their plane was the biggest (airliner of course, An-225 Miriya {NRN Cossack} is the biggest ever for any one from good ol' Soviet Russia/Ukraine) but when Airbus built the A380 I wondered who really gets the bragging rights??? España, Deutschland, France, Britain, Italia?

@Chamath5 I think you'll find Boeing is a much more superior, magnificent, more liked company around the world which makes nicer more efficient planes, not starting an argument, making my point.

@GoldenDragonTwo boeing sucks

That mean you need a bigger run way for the huge plane or you need to lift off from a minimal run wat for smaller airport also to land.

even if the a380 is the biggest airliner... they cannot take the title for the 747 so if the a380 is the biggest airliner, the antonov an28 is the largest cargo plane the 747 is still the queen of the skied not an anti air bus just explaining hehe

And what was Boeing's answer to the A380?
A 747 chopped in two and 'stretched'...
Typical Boeing:
Big on size.
Small on innovation
