I thought the show was named after the text book and Meredith was name after the book by Shonda?

People wonder why the interview seems to be centered around Ellen.Well,thats because her character "Meredith Grey" is the main character of Grey's Anatomy. That is why the name of the show is GREY'S Anatomy.It was literally named after her characters last name.And the same is for Patrick (Derrek).When the show first started,Ellen & Patrick were the first 2 people we saw.But I do think they could have shown more of the cast.They made it seem like the rest were "less important" and that was wrong
