Great "kills". Shelby GT500, Mustang GT, Camaro, Nova, WRX STi, Integra. Getting used to a new way of driving.

I have successfully enabled the clutch cut feature in DSMlink, and just in time for another Friday night to see what it will do for my time slips. I'd say results are pretty conclusive that it shaves 0.4 seconds and adds 3 mph when used properly while other variables remain the same. You mash the gas for the duration of the run from staging to the finish and after you dump the clutch, each time you press the clutch, the ignition is limited to your shift RPMs. Doing this leaves the throttle plate wide-open, and you can maintain boost between gears.

I can't describe it any other way than awesome. 2 videos from the prior week cover the wiring for this modification.

  • See this is what racing should be like cause seriously all the racing vids on the street illegally dont really show how fast or how much time you put into the vehicle, now when you take it to the track this shows how fast and how well you know your vehicle and how well tuned. Thank you for a great video man and i appreciate your DSM and awesome vid.

  • @MK3JettaDude Thank you! I was trying to convey precisely that message with this channel, and I must be doing it right.

I thought I knew how to drive before I ever went to the track. Wrong. It takes time and practice to learn your equipment. There are no metrics on the street... no numbers... nothing to measure improvements to either the car or your driving ability. Without those, all there is to learn from is just consequences and meaningless bragging rights.

  • 2nd gear is rough to shift into huh?

  • @stealth7769 In this video, I'm just about 500 miles into a brand new transmission here, and yeah, it was really stiff. I put a 6-puck clutch in it that seized to the input shaft in less than 700 miles. It gave me an opportunity to make a video series about DSM transmission and clutch replacement procedures.

Seriously, watch the trans & clutch video #2 and see me cut a brand new $600 clutch off the input shaft. I put a street disc back in it, and now it's smoother than it's ever been.

  • gotta get that thing into second faster! and try a couple runs without lc might improve your time. your running a very small turbo it isnt necassary

  • @Jafromobile Thanks dude, your cool as hell jajaja awesome. If all else I can buy one in good condition, I'm looking at a 99 right now, and I can do this 6 bolt swap? DEFINITELY worth it! I have an Mr2 Turbo at the moment, but I'm moving, I wish to be able to get something as reliable as this and I am selling it, I treat my cars very well xD thanks again duude!

  • @Kizunin Many of the cars thought to be impervious to crankwalk (possibly including mine), have exhibited catastrophic failures that seem to point in the direction of "nobody is impervious to crankwalk". Driving habits, maintenance and other factors are contributors. If you find a second generation (95-99) car that has already had a 6-bolt swap done to it (more and more are getting it every day), then you can kiss those concerns goodbye. Right now I'm doing a video series on that exact swap.

  • @Jafromobile Hey, nice car dude. If I were to buy one, should my concerns of crank walking be as serious as they make it out to be? Cuz seriously it sounds horrible! and sounds like money down the drain. What do I do?

  • @TrueBlueEG8 i was talking casual daily driving...

  • @skater360fletch what difference would it really make, u dont really have to do much steering in a straight line drag race.....
