We did. We phoned. We faxed. We wrote letters. We signed petitions. We marched in the streets.
They still passed every single bail-out package and stimulus bill.

@elboertjie "We estimate the rate increase would raise the total water charge for a typical residential account in Milwaukee by $11.00 per billing quarter, to a total water charge per quarter of about $50.00, or about $0.53 per day."

Shocking or not it IS true
Most of the politicians don't care about We The People, anymore. That framework is past us now. The evidence is everywhere. Currently, money is flowing upward, not trickling down. Calling congress won't help, anymore. Votes are bought, not earned. We are now a corporately owned military industrial machine, taking the resources of the weak. The only thing we have left is a REVOLUTION. Like the fall of the economy and the rise in the cost of oil, it is no longer a question of IF, but WHEN.

The 'tea' in Tea Party has been used as an acronym standing for Taxed Enough Already. The Libertarian theme of the "tea party" began with Republican Congressman Ron Paul supporters as a fundraising event during the 2008 presidential primaries to emphasize Paul's fiscal conservatism, which laid the groundwork for the modern-day Tea Party movement.
